100 Years and Still Going Strong: Roger Wonson’s Secrets to Longevity, Health, and Happiness

Roger Wonson, a spry and energetic 100-year-old man, attributes his long, healthy life to his love for music, passion for weight training, and empathy. Recently, he celebrated his milestone birthday by performing the drums with his band, The Current Current, at his nursing home. Wonson believes that music has kept him positive and motivated throughout his life.

Wonson is proud of not conforming to the stereotype of an elderly person. He attributes his longevity to a combination of good genetics from his parents, who also lived long lives, and a cheerful personality. He advises people to eat smaller portions of food, drink plenty of water, and engage in weight training to maintain their muscles’ strength.

When it comes to eating habits, Wonson follows the Japanese principle of stopping when 80% full. He puts the bowl away while still slightly hungry to give his stomach time to signal to his brain that it is satisfied. By doing this consistently, he avoids overeating and injury.

Empathy plays a crucial role in Wonson’s relationships. He believes that understanding someone else’s perspective can prevent conflicts from arising. To maintain harmony in relationships, he emphasizes listening actively and respecting other people’s opinions. Stress weakens the immune system and accelerates aging and chronic conditions; hence Wonson focuses on finding joy in everyday activities such as music photography and lifelong learning through sources like Ted Talks.

In conclusion, Roger Wonson’s approach to life involves finding joy in what he loves while taking care of himself through proper nutrition and exercise habits. His emphasis on empathy helps him build strong relationships with those around him while maintaining a positive outlook on life even at 100 years old!
