The 2023 Music City Bowl Generates $23 Million Boost for Nashville’s Economy

The 2023 TransPerfect Music City Bowl had a direct economic impact of $23 million on Nashville’s economy, according to officials. This was announced at a press conference held after the game, which saw Maryland beat Auburn 31-13 in front of an attendance of 50,088 at Nissan Stadium on December 30.

Scott Ramsey, President & CEO of the Music City Bowl, expressed delight at the positive economic impact of the event and credited the support from fans, sponsors, and the community for its success. He also mentioned that this was a record year for the bowl in terms of room nights generated during the festivities.

According to Ramsey, out-of-town attendees spent an average of $243 per day while in-town attendees contributed an average of $206 per day in spending. This helped generate a total of 24,363 room nights during the bowl week.

Since its establishment in 1998, the Music City Bowl has contributed over $400 million in direct economic impact to Nashville’s economy. The bowl has become one of the most popular college football bowl games in the country and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
