A Journalist’s Favorite Spots in Richmond: From Public Health to Relaxation and Food

As a journalist, I recently visited the Southwood Resource Center on the southside of Richmond. Before working at RHHD, I was an Eligibility Worker at Cover Virginia. In my opinion, public health should prioritize providing more mental health, medical, and dental services to our community.

When it comes to showing out-of-town visitors around, one of my favorite places to take them is the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. If you were to ask me in a random round of questions, I would say that Richmond’s best month is either April or October.

For some much-needed rest and rejuvenation, I enjoy going to the gym. When it comes to music, my walk-up song would be “Everybody” by Nicki Minaj. Lastly, if I had to pick a sandwich that best describes my style of working, it would be the club sandwich.
