Opening Date Announced for Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown

The Da Vinci Science Center, a world-class facility that brings science to life and inspires lives through science, is set to open in Allentown on May 22. After nearly two years of construction, the center will offer interactive exhibits, classrooms, laboratories, and interactive workshops for visitors of all ages.

The new location at PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown spans 67,000 square feet and features unique experiences such as exploring the inner workings of the human body and getting an up-close visit with North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine. The first exhibit at the 8,000-square foot City Center Gallery will be “Dinos Alive!” which focuses on dinosaurs.

Lin Erickson, Executive Director and CEO of the Da Vinci Science Center, expressed her excitement about welcoming the community to the Lehigh Valley’s newest premier science center. She mentioned that the vision for a world-class science center would not have been possible without the strong support from everyone in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. The mission of the center is to bring science to life and to inspire lives through science. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s insatiable curiosity, this new science center aims to immerse visitors in experiences unlike any other.

The current location of the Da Vinci Science Center at Cedar Crest College will close on April 1, with tickets for the new center going on sale in mid-April. Those interested in learning more can visit davincisciencecenter.org for additional information. Years in the making, the Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown is one step closer to becoming a reality.
