In recent news, KSV1870 reports that Antero GmbH, a company founded in 2009 with the aim of producing premium-class ski and snowboard products, intends to continue operations despite its current financial difficulties. The company has been operating in the former premises of a snowboard factory since 2021, but the pandemic and its consequences have caused retail sales figures to fall short, resulting in over-indebtedness.
Bankruptcy proceedings have been opened at the Klagenfurt Regional Court over the company’s assets, with liabilities amounting to 2.274 million euros. Originally, Antero GmbH had 15 employees, but there are currently only three. The company’s online platform offers individual snowboards, winter sports items, textiles, a community, entertainment features, and current information for fans of the board sports scene.
Despite these challenges, Antero GmbH intends to continue operations in order to make the best possible use of its existing raw materials and clarify whether the financial and organizational requirements for a restructuring plan application can be met. The company belongs to Apricum GmbH and in the 2022 financial year, it suffered an accumulated loss of 854,000 euros with negative equity of 489,000 euros. Approximately 600,000 euros in liabilities relate to profit participation rights.
