Brown previously played for the Dallas Cowboys for seven seasons, but his 2022 season was reduce brief due to a torn Achilles. Immediately after becoming released by Dallas, he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad in late August, but was let go by the group final week.

In a total of 94 normal season games, he recorded 324 tackles, nine interceptions, 4 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 1 interception return for a touchdown, and a fumble recovery touchdown.
