Control Your iPhone and iPad Using Eye Gestures: Apple Unveils Exciting New Feature

Apple has recently unveiled several updates as part of its celebration of Global Disability Awareness Day. Among these updates, Eye Tracking technology was introduced, which allows users to control their iPhones and iPads by simply looking at the screen. This feature is particularly helpful for those with physical disabilities as it eliminates the need for manual input.

In addition to Eye Tracking, Apple also revealed Music Haptics, a new music experience designed specifically for deaf or hard of hearing users. The feature includes different vibrations and taps along with music audio to enhance the overall experience. Other updates include Vocal Shortcuts, which enables users to launch Siri shortcuts using custom phrases, and Listen for Atypical Speech, a feature that recognizes a broader range of speech patterns for those with speech conditions.

Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized the company’s commitment to inclusive design during his announcement, stating that accessibility has been a core component of Apple’s hardware and software since its inception over 40 years ago. These updates will be available later this year and do not require any additional hardware.

Another interesting update announced by Apple is Vehicle Motion Cues, aimed at helping those who suffer from motion sickness. This feature displays moving black dots on the edge of device screens to indicate the direction of vehicle movement, which can help alleviate sensory conflicts between what someone sees and feels. With these new updates, Apple continues to prioritize accessibility and inclusivity in its products and services.
