As the Spanish newspaper Marca reported, Luis De la Fuente (62) experienced a difficult day as a coach. The joy he felt on the sidelines during Spain’s 3-1 victory over Georgia in the Euros qualifiers turned into sadness when Gavi (19), a Spanish talent, had to be taken off the field in the 26th minute due to pain in his right knee. There were concerns that Gavi may have suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, which was later confirmed by the manager after the match. The mood in the Furia dressing room was somber, and it is expected that Gavi will miss the rest of the season due to his injury.

Mundo Deportivo also shared their thoughts on the situation, stating that there was great anger among Barcelona fans. They felt frustrated that their player had been forced to play in a meaningless match for them, as they had already secured a spot in the Euros earlier. Additionally, there were reports that Barcelona could potentially receive compensation from FIFA for Gavi’s injury, ranging from four to five million euros.
