Closing its doors after half a century in Worcester, Tatnuck Meat & Seafood bids farewell

Harvey Slarskey, the founder of Tatnuck Meat and Seafood in Worcester, has closed the doors of his beloved business after 50 years in operation. The decision was made due to declining business and health issues. Michael Slarskey, Harvey’s son who stepped in to help three years ago, expressed gratitude to their loyal customers and acknowledged that it was time to say goodbye.

Over the years, Tatnuck Meat and Seafood had become a staple in the community, offering a wide variety of meats and seafood. However, with the changing neighborhood, business began to decline. Michael shared that the decision to close was a difficult one as the business had been a part of their lives for so long.

Harvey Slarskey started out as a small butcher’s shop on Pleasant Street before adding seafood offerings in 2011. He was known for his commitment to providing quality products and building personal relationships with his customers. In interviews over the years, he emphasized the importance of customer satisfaction and quality products. Despite facing numerous challenges running a small business, he remained committed to maintaining high standards until now.

The closure of Tatnuck Meat and Seafood marks an end of an era for the community but also serves as a reminder of Harvey Slarskey’s dedication to his customers throughout his career.
