On Sunday, the Bills’ special teams made amends for their error in last Monday’s loss to the Broncos. Fullback Reggie Gilliam made a huge play by crushing Jets kickoff returner Xavier Gipson and forcing a fumble that was recovered by Quintin Morris at the Jets’ 21-yard-line. Despite the great field position, the Bills were unable to turn the takeaway into a touchdown.
After a short run and an incompletion, Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams sacked Josh Allen, forcing the Bills to settle for a field goal attempt by Tyler Bass. Bass successfully made the 48-yard field goal, giving the Bills a 3-0 lead with only 90 seconds off the clock in Buffalo. The early success of the special teams and defense gave the Bills an early advantage in the game.
