India captain Uday Saharan addressed his team in a huddle during their semifinal match against South Africa at Willowmoore Park in Benoni. As the team prepares for the World Cup, U19 captain Saharan urged his team to beat Australia, saying “We can’t lose to them again.”

The creation of the WhatsApp group for the current India U-19 squad was heavily influenced by their ODI World Cup loss to Australia. The group was formed on November 24th, just five days after the heartbreaking defeat in Ahmedabad.

Sanjay Dhas, father of Sachin Tendulkar, who played in the semis with an impressive 96 against some of the best pace bowling of the tournament, recalls the domination of Australia over India in big tournaments. “Most of our conversation centered on how Australia has always dominated us in big tournaments,” he said. “We lost the World Test Championship (WTC) and then the ODI World Cup final.”

Dhas emphasized that it is crucial for India to beat Australia in this tournament. He mentioned that there is no greater pride than beating your biggest rivals in a final and that they must do so at their own game. “Each one of them is ready for this match,” he said confidently. “They want to beat Australia and show everyone that they are capable.”
