WSJ’s Torry to report on the economy in the Western United States

Chris Roush, a distinguished professor of business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill, has been named dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Prior to his appointment at Quinnipiac, Roush held the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor title at UNC-Chapel Hill and worked for Bloomberg News and Businessweek.

Harriet Torry, a veteran reporter with 14 years of experience at the Wall Street Journal, has been assigned to cover the Western U.S. economy for the publication from her station in Houston, Texas. Previously, Torry covered consumers in the U.S. economy from Washington D.C., where she also reported on the Federal Reserve and worked as a financial reporter for the Journal before moving to Berlin to report on Germany’s government and economy during the eurozone sovereign debt crisis.
