The Queen Consort has met with Joseph Coelho, the UK’s Children’s Laureate, to mark Globe Poetry Day, which requires spot on 21 March.
In a video shared to The Royal Family’s official social media account in collaboration with BookTrust, Camilla can be observed discussing the value of young children mastering poetry. Alongside a clip from the conversation involving the Queen Consort and the Children’s Laureate, a caption reads: “Satisfied #WorldPoetryDay!
“We not too long ago brought collectively The Queen Consort and Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho to speak about the joys and rewards of mastering poetry.”
The video shows a quick clip of the conversation — in which the pair talk about the rewards of young children mastering poetry. In the clip, Camilla can be heard saying: “Finding out poetry, it offers them self-confidence. If somebody can basically understand a poem, and stand up in front of an audience and recite it, I imply, you happen to be halfway there, are not you?”. Joseph then replies: “Yeah, and that is a ability for life.”
