Linebacker Shaquille Leonard has been released by the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts owner Jim Irsay thanked Leonard for his contributions to the team, and Leonard took to social media to express his gratitude to the city of Indianapolis and its fans.
Over the six years that Leonard played for the Colts, he achieved several accomplishments. He was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft and won defensive rookie of the year. Additionally, he was named a first-team All-Pro. However, back injuries and a decrease in playing time led to his release from the team.
Although saddened by his departure, Leonard remains grateful for the support he received from Colts fans and expressed his love for the city. As a free agent, he will now be looking for a new team where he can sign a new contract and continue his professional football career.
