Jets reach out to Corey Davis for possible reunion

Corey Davis’ release by the Jets on March 14 may have opened the door for him to rejoin Gang Green. Following his application for reinstatement to the NFL, Coach Robert Saleh stated in a press conference at the AFC coaches breakfast that the Jets are in regular communication with Davis and that the door is always open for him to return.

If Davis were to return, it would be a significant boost to their already strong wide receiving group, which includes Garrett Wilson and recently-signed Mike Williams. In August 2021, Davis took a break from the game but was reinstated earlier this month, allowing him to make a comeback to the NFL. Before signing with the Jets in 2021, he spent four years with the Tennessee Titans.

During his time with the Jets, Davis showed promise as a valuable asset to their offense, recording 66 receptions for 1,028 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons with the team. If he were to sign again with Gang Green, it could potentially create a dynamic wide receiving corps that opposing teams will have to contend with.
