Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest football players of all time, has been involved in a recent story about a former teammate who he believed to be better than him. Fabio Paim, a former Sporting player who played with Ronaldo at the beginning of their careers, claims that Ronaldo once told him that he was a better player than him.
In an interview with The Sun, Paim spoke about his life after he and Ronaldo parted ways. He revealed that fame and fortune had destroyed him and that he ended up in prison on charges of drug dealing. In the interview, Paim also repeated the same story he told in a podcast about how he believed he could be better than Ronaldo if he worked half as hard as him and would be Messi’s main competitor for the Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo responded to the interview on social media but not as expected. He commented, “WTF. Who is this character?” It’s clear that Ronaldo doesn’t remember Paim.
Transfermarkt claims that Paim played for more than 20 clubs in his career, and his highest value was 400,000 euros when he was on loan at Chelsea. Despite his accomplishments, it seems that Paim struggled with fame and fortune and eventually ended up in prison.
