The Hajduk players, led by their standout player Marko Livaj, have parted ways with the team “Fire” during the Euro qualifiers. Now, they are preparing for the continuation of the HNL with just four rounds remaining until the end of the year. The leading team of the championship will face off against Istra 1961 in the first of these rounds on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The match could potentially set a new record for attendance at a home game for Istria, which currently stands at 7,500 spectators during a Cup semi-final against Rijeka. Istria has sold out all tickets for the southern stand, where visiting fans will be seated, as well as for the eastern stand, where fans with Hajduk’s insignia can enter. Only tickets for the northern tribune remain available for purchase.
With a capacity of approximately 8,900 seats and only 1,246 tickets left on sale at present, it seems likely that the attendance record at Istria Stadium will be broken. More “late” tickets are expected to be sold before the game begins, so it remains to be seen how many spectators will ultimately attend. Regardless, thanks to the support of Hajduk fans, this first match is sure to be an exciting event.
