The residency program for mental health nurse practitioners focuses on providing clinical experience in managing mental health conditions affecting the Veteran population. It aims to enhance diagnostic, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy skills, as well as developing strong interprofessional collaboration and Veteran-centric care expertise.
The mission of the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System’s Mental Health APRN Residency is to prepare mental health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN’s) to deliver high-quality care for Veterans, including those in rural and underserved patient populations. The program encourages eligible applicants to apply by the March 8, 2024 deadline.
