Billy Smith and Langdon Hatton have been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team. This prestigious team recognizes the top student-athletes in the nation for their outstanding performances both on the court and in the classroom.

Langdon Hatton, a junior data science major, had an impressive season with averages of 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He had five double-doubles during the season, including a standout performance with 27 points and 12 rebounds in a game against Kennesaw State. This is Langdon’s second postseason academic honor, as he was previously named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team.

Billy Smith, a sophomore psychology major, also had a successful season with averages of 5.8 points and a 34.6 percent shooting percentage from three-point range. In his first season since transferring from Miami (OH), he scored a season-high 17 points in a game against Berea. To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and either appear in 90 percent of the team’s games or start in at least 66 percent of the games. The recognition of Hatton and Smith reflects their dedication to excellence both on and off the court.
