Fabien Barel, the Canyon CLLCTV rider, was penalized for a missed section of liaison through Sunday’s ten-stage race. This penalty expense him the victory, but it did not avoid him from winning the all round Globe Cup series. In spite of the setback, Barel’s season-extended dominance secured him the series win, even even though he completed in ninth location in the race. Kevin Marry of Lapierre Zipp Collective took benefit of Barel’s penalty to claim the race win, narrowly beating Tiago Ladeira of Miranda Factory Group. Mick Hannah of Yeti/Fox Factory Race Group completed in third location.

In the women’s race, Florencia Espineira of Orbea Fox Enduro Group emerged victorious, edging out Tracy Moseley by a mere 4-tenths of a second. This closely contested race saw Moseley initially dominate by winning the initial 3 stages prior to Ines Thoma claimed the fourth and final stage. Laura Charles, the former EWS-E champion of Miranda Factory Group, also won a stage. Even so, it was Espineira from Chile who displayed exceptional strength to safe each the race victory and the all round title. Espineira’s win in the nail-biting battle in Chatel, France, was decided by much less than a second, solidifying her position as the all round champion. Charles completed second in the all round series standings, joining Espineira on the podium, though Germany’s Thoma secured third location.
