Facebook Suspends Automobile Advertisements, Imposes Fines on 36 Companies

The Ministry of Commerce recently held an inspection that led to the 30th meeting of the Unfair Price Evaluation Board. During the meeting, discussions were held about unfair pricing practices in the new vehicle sector, cement, and ready-mixed concrete producing companies. As a result of these discussions, fines totaling over 105 million lira were imposed on 36 businesses. In particular, 20 businesses in the new automobile sector were fined 71 million 337 thousand liras, while 16 cement and ready-mixed concrete companies were fined 33 million 791 thousand liras for charging exorbitant prices.

In other news, the Ministry of Commerce has announced that the publication of new vehicle advertisements on Facebook has been stopped. This move comes after the Ministry made it mandatory for those who advertise on advertising sites to verify their identity.
