A brand-new six-week fitness program, FIT-Together, is now open for registration at Franciscan Health Michigan City. This family-focused initiative aims to promote health and wellness among families with children aged 8 to 15.
FIT-Together emphasizes the importance of making healthy choices in all aspects of life, including physical activity, relationships, and emotional health. The program offers a variety of activities that are designed to involve the entire family, such as family-centered exercises led by Trainer Ron Gaston, cooking and meal preparation sessions with Chef Nakia, and discussions about nutritional facts. Additionally, participants will receive weekly meal kits for their entire household.
During the program, participants will learn about the seven Cs of family resilience – control, competence, coping, confidence, connection, character, and contribution – through interactive sessions at The Temple Total Fitness Center in Michigan City. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 4 to July 18 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Central Time. Comfortable clothing and gym shoes are recommended for all sessions.
This exciting program is made possible through partnerships with Franciscan Health Michigan City, General Insurance Services, Bowen Center, Kia Can Cook, and The Temple Total Fitness Center. While the program is free of charge
