PayCargo, the freight payment platform, has offered a $1.25 million donation to Florida International University’s College of Small business (FIU Small business) to establish the PayCargo Provide Chain and Logistics Plan. FIU Small business was the initial business enterprise college in Florida to introduce a Master of Science in Logistics and Provide Chain Management system in the fall of 2018. Lately, in the QS Globe University Rankings for 2022, the system was ranked No. 7 in the United States. Furthermore, the college introduced a Bachelor of Small business Administration in Logistics and Provide Chain Management in 2018.
Eduardo del Riego, the CEO of PayCargo and an alumnus of FIU Small business with a BBA in Finance, expressed his delight in supporting the college by way of the present. He stated, “Our partnership will enable FIU to build extra connections to important companies driving the development of our sector as properly as educate the students on major-edge technologies and ideas that will enable solidify South Florida as a center of excellence for logistics and provide chain.”
The donation from PayCargo will help in the improvement of infrastructure and faculty knowledge for the system. It will also assistance student recruitment and profession readiness by giving fellowships and internships, organizing firm visits, and establishing a speaker series with sector executives. In terms of faculty-focused efforts, connections with logistics and provide chain researchers will be enhanced, and participation in international conferences will be enhanced.
William Hardin, the dean of FIU Small business, emphasized the significance of the present. He stated, “The present is a recognition of what we have achieved and what we can accomplish. It makes it possible for us to dedicate sources year-round, attend events all more than the U.S., elevate our progress, and engage with the sector.”
PayCargo, founded in 2005, utilizes cloud-primarily based technologies to facilitate virtual payments for many entities in the logistics sector, which includes air and ocean carriers, maritime ports, ground handlers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. This technologies enables faster cargo release for companies.
