Ex-NFL Quarterback Vince Young implicated in altercation at Houston bar

Vince Young, a former NFL quarterback and UT alumnus, was involved in a chaotic altercation at Tokyo Joe’s in Houston early February. The incident went viral after a video was posted on social media that showed Young being punched by one of the men involved in the fight, causing him to fall to the ground briefly before getting back up.

According to TMZ, the fight occurred as Young was sitting at the bar with a group of people who appeared to be arguing. The situation escalated quickly as more people approached Young, getting in his face and throwing drinks. The group eventually moved to the other side of the bar, attracting more participants and spectators.

The reason behind the scuffle remains unclear. ABC 13 reported that bar staff members were involved in the fight and were the ones to call 911. The Houston Police Department stated that the incident occurred on Feb. 4 around 10 p.m., with the bar manager opting not to press charges.

Young is known for his football career at UT from 2002 to 2004 and is one of the school’s most renowned former athletes. He then played in the NFL for six seasons and was runner-up for the 2005 Heisman Trophy.
