Johnny Nguyen, a man who left his home country during the Vietnam War, has built a successful business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. DVR Cabinetry is a thriving company that specializes in cabinets and countertops with around 25 employees. Nguyen’s dream was to give his children a better life and leave behind the hardships caused by the war, food shortages, and supply chain issues.

After leaving Vietnam, Nguyen and his brother lived in a camp for immigrants in Malaysia before moving to the United States. Once in the US, Nguyen started by working various jobs while continuing his education. He eventually started a printing business, which allowed him to enter the construction industry. Eventually, this led to the creation of DVR Cabinetry in Northeast Philadelphia.

Today, DVR Cabinetry is flourishing with around 25 employees. Nguyen hopes to hire another 50 people as his business continues to grow.
