The world’s first Dragon Ball Z theme park is being constructed in Saudi Arabia.

In Cologne, Germany, the 2019 Gamescom gaming trade fair brought visitors the latest version of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. The excitement around the game was palpable as fans got to experience the popular anime series in a new way. The energy and enthusiasm of the crowd were infectious, and it was clear that Dragon Ball Z continues to hold a special place in many hearts.

Meanwhile, plans are underway for the construction of the first-ever Dragon Ball Z theme park as part of Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya project. This massive entertainment venue will span 5.3 million square feet and feature seven different areas inspired by the original anime series. With more than 30 themed rides, hotels, and restaurants, the theme park is set to be a major tourist attraction in the region.

The Dragon Ball Z theme park will include five “world first” rides, including a 230-foot-high roller coaster named Shenron. The park is a testament to the growing interest in video games and anime in the kingdom, with significant investments being made to bring these popular forms of entertainment to Saudi audiences.

Qiddiya itself is a planned “city” located in Riyadh, spanning over 360 square kilometers and offering over 400 attractions including golf courses, theme parks, and hotels. The project is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy and attract more tourists to the kingdom. With ambitious targets for tourism growth
