More Women Are Now CEOs of Listed Companies than Men

In 2015, the Helsinki Stock Exchange had more CEOs of listed companies named Juha than women. However, recent calculations by responsibility consultant Kaisa Hernberg show that this trend has shifted, with more women serving as CEOs of companies listed on the stock exchange. According to Hernberg, there are now ten women as managing directors of listed companies, while Juha presence has decreased to only five. Additionally, there are also five managing directors named Mikko, four named Mikko, and three each of Arto, Eso, Miko, Petr, Peko, and Timo.

The diversity at the Helsinki Stock Exchange has shown significant growth in recent years. The current share of women as CEOs of listed companies slightly exceeds seven percent. Despite this improvement, women still surpass Juha in numbers. This highlights the need for further enhancements in terms of gender diversity in leadership positions.

Hernberg’s calculation was inspired by a similar calculation made by the Union of Women’s Affairs in 2015 that emphasized the lack of female representation in CEOs of listed companies. Since then, there has been a gradual increase in the number of female CEOs. Last year saw a decrease in their presence but still managed to reach nine percent with twelve companies being led by female CEOs.

Over time, the number of female CEOs in listed companies has fluctuated but is currently at around ten before stabilizing at its current level. These statistics underscore the importance of making informed decisions when selecting leaders in the corporate world and ensuring a more inclusive and diverse representation in top positions.

In conclusion, while progress has been made towards achieving gender diversity among CEOs at Helsinki Stock Exchange over time it’s evident that there is still room for improvement to ensure equal representation among top positions within corporations worldwide.
