PennDOT to Begin Resurfacing Project on Business Loop 83 on Monday

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Central York boys’ basketball made history by winning their first state title with a thrilling 53-51 victory over Parkland at Giant Center in Hershey.

Meanwhile, starting Monday, a resurfacing project on Business Loop 83 near York City will commence according to PennDOT. The project will cover the area from the South George Street (Exit 15) ramps at I-83 in York Township to West Drive at WellSpan York Hospital in Spring Garden Township. Additionally, the project will include work on the ramps at Exit 15 and a section of South George Street that runs from Business Loop 83 north to West Drive.

During the project, short-term lane closures will occur only during nighttime hours, with no lane closures between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained when the work zone is active, and there may be short-term ramp closures at night. The $4.4 million project, led by JVI Group Inc. of York Springs, Adams County, involves base repair, milling, paving, minor drainage updates, guide rail updates, and other miscellaneous work.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and be alert while driving through the work zone. The project is projected to be completed by Sept
