Fulton Police Use Drone Technology to Locate Missing Vulnerable Person

In a remarkable turn of events, the Fulton Police Department in New York was able to locate a missing vulnerable person using a drone. The person was reported missing by their family on Monday evening, and the police quickly mobilized a drone operator to assist in the search and rescue effort.

The drone was deployed around 7:50 p.m. to cover a wooded area near the 600 block of Gansvoort Street. With the use of thermal imaging, the drone operator was able to locate the missing person at approximately 8:12 p.m. The operator then directed ground units to the location.

Deputy Chief Chris Dempsey emphasized the importance of using cutting-edge technology for the safety of the community and officers in this successful recovery effort. He stated that this technology has become increasingly important as it allows for faster and more efficient searches, ultimately leading to better outcomes for those who are lost or missing.
