Governor Mark Gordon is set to host a Town Hall meeting in Casper on February 13, with the aim of addressing mental health care. The meeting will be open to the public and will take place at Casper College Wheeler Music Hall from 1:30 to 3 pm. According to Governor Gordon, he is looking forward to hearing from local communities about the efforts underway to increase awareness of available resources and improve access to mental health care.
Last week, the Governor launched an initiative aimed at tackling Wyoming’s ongoing mental health crisis. The “Mental Health Roadmap” focuses on advancing systemic behavioral health reform in Wyoming. The roadmap identifies five pillars that are critical to improving outcomes for those battling mental health issues, and Governor Gordon will outline these during the Casper Town Hall.
The Town Hall serves as an opportunity for community members to discuss their thoughts and experiences directly with the Governor and other officials. The meeting will provide a platform for local communities to voice their concerns and provide input on how to address mental health care in the region. During the discussions, strategies aimed at addressing Wyoming’s mental health crisis and making progress toward ensuring that more resources are available to those who need them will be explored.
