Grand Forks Public Wellness Champions to be awarded at subsequent week’s City Council meeting – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS — Awardees of the Grand Forks Public Wellness Champions Award will be honored at subsequent week’s City Council meeting on April three.

According to a press release, the awards recognize men and women, groups or organizations who champion and lead possibilities for well being across our neighborhood.

The awardees are Doris Haynes Lebby, president of Enjoy in Action Mandy Iverson, neighborhood mental well being coordinator for Mental Wellness Matters Jen Berger, emergency preparedness response coordinator at UND, Rosy Dub, public well being nurse and Social Detox Advocates, component of the Withdrawal Management Center.

Basic criteria for nominees are they need to:

  • Reside, function or volunteer in Grand Forks County
  • Market the principles of public well being in a qualified, public or volunteer capacity in Grand Forks County
  • Exemplify exceptional achievement, longstanding excellence, outstanding leadership and have produced contributions that have sophisticated the community’s well being
  • Demonstrate achievements in guarding and advertising the well being of Grand Forks County

Final year’s award recipients have been Maura Ferguson, a housing specialist with the Grand Forks Higher Plains Fair Housing Center Miranda Olson, a student at UND and a complete-time firefighter and EMT for the city of Grand Forks Hugo’s Household Marketplace with the award getting accepted by Torrie Enget Mary Barrett, a public well being nurse with the Grand Forks County Correctional Center and Debbie Swanson, the director of Grand Forks Public Wellness.

Meghan Arbegast

Meghan Arbegast grew up in Safety-Widefield, Colorado. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from North Dakota State University in Fargo, in 2021.

Arbegast wrote for The Spectrum, NDSU’s student newspaper, for 3 years and was Head News Editor for two years. She was an intern with University Relations her final two semesters of college.
