Dr. Greg Price, the Chief Technology and Security Officer at Troy University, achieved a top-ten finish in the prestigious 2024 Oncon Icon Technology Professional of the Year Awards, establishing himself as one of the elite IT professionals globally. This recognition highlights his significant contributions to the technology and cybersecurity field.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Dr. Price has spent 27 years at Troy University, where he has been pivotal in promoting innovation and excellence in the IT sector. He holds 11 industry certifications, is a licensed engineer in two fields, has secured three technology patents, and authored seven influential books on technology and cybersecurity.
In addition to this recent accolade, Dr. Price has received numerous awards and honors over the years, including being named one of the top 100 IT Technologists by ComputerWorld. He also led Troy University’s cybersecurity team to national recognition, elevating the university’s profile in the technology communities both nationally and internationally.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Dr. Price is involved in social responsibility initiatives, having founded the Alabama Digital Forensics Institute and the Alabama Cyberkids Awareness Program. He has also raised over $3 million for children’s hospitals through his participation in ultra-endurance running events.
