After a remarkable 14-year tenure, Harry Krueger, celebrated for his outstanding direction on games such as Returnal and Nex Machina, has announced his departure from Housemarque. Krueger expressed profound gratitude for his time at the studio, stating that each project was a dream come true. His contributions greatly impacted the growth of the studio, propelling it from arcade games to ambitious projects like Returnal, which marked a pivotal moment in Housemarque’s history.

Krueger acknowledged the difficulty of his decision but expressed excitement about the future that lay ahead for both new projects and the strong team remaining at Housemarque. He demonstrated confidence in the promising future of the Finnish studio, backed by Sony’s continued support as an internal team in 2021.

Ilari Kuittinen, co-founder and CEO of Housemarque, commended Krueger’s significant influence on the development of the studio.
