The Hawk Mountain Council BSA recently honored Bill Mack, a Social Studies Instructor at the Schuylkill Technology Center North Campus, by naming him the 2024 Elbert K. Fretwell Educator of the Year. The award was presented at a breakfast held at the STC North Campus on April 26, 2024. Shannon Brennan, STC Director, praised Mr. Mack for his exceptional teaching skills, his ability to inspire leadership in his students, and his dedication to community service.
Bill Mack has an impressive educational background, holding a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. Currently, he is working towards his Principal’s Certification at Alvernia University. With sixteen years of teaching experience, he has made a significant impact on the North Schuylkill School District and the Schuylkill Technology Center, where he currently teaches.
In addition to his role as an educator, Bill Mack is actively involved in various leadership positions within the community. He has held positions such as District President and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Pennsylvania Elks Association, as well as leadership roles in the Protective Order of Elks, Number 1533. He also serves as the STC SkillsUSA Advisor. Bill Mack and his wife Holly are proud parents to their daughter Laynie.
