For 64 years, Sunset Sound has been a renowned recording studio in Hollywood, producing iconic records that have shaped the music industry. However, the studio is now facing its greatest challenge: the homeless community surrounding the building.

In recent months, incidents like Taylor Swift being accosted outside the studio and property damage caused by people using the bathroom anywhere they please have had a negative impact on business. Additionally, the building was set on fire twice in the past year.

On Sunday, Sunset Sound was burglarized, with thieves stealing blank checks that led to the cancellation of their accounts. The situation has escalated to the point where needles are being left in plain sight outside the studio and people are using the bathroom anywhere they please, resulting in further property damage.

The homeless population in the area has reached approximately 3,000 people, with only 400 shelter beds available. L.A. City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez’s office is monitoring the situation and working with outreach teams to address the issue. However, Soto-Martinez declined an on-camera interview when asked about it.

Overall, Sunset Sound’s operations have been greatly impacted by issues stemming from the homeless community around them, putting their future in jeopardy as they try to navigate this challenging situation.
