GSA Launches New Class of Presidential Innovation Fellows to Prioritize Technology Modernization

As part of the Technology Transformation Services, the Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) program has announced its first cohort for this year. This initiative recruits technology and innovation leaders from the private sector and assigns them as strategic advisers within federal agencies. The goal of the program is to support government leaders in addressing various national priorities.

The 12th PIF class comprises 21 fellows who will focus on technology modernization goals. Later this year, a second cohort is set to launch with a focus on artificial intelligence, in line with the Executive Order on the Safe, Secure and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence. GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan expressed her excitement about how these innovators will collaborate with agency leaders to enhance service delivery for the American people.

Since its inception in 2012, PIF has recruited over 250 fellows who have made significant contributions to public service. Some of their achievements include improving data sharing at the Department of Veterans Affairs and supporting technology modernization efforts at the Department of Justice. The program aims to continue leveraging the expertise of private sector leaders to drive innovation and improve government services.
