As the game began, the Jacksonville Jaguars quickly took a lead against the Tennessee Titans. During their second possession of the day, quarterback Trevor Lawrence connected with wide receiver Calvin Ridley for a three-yard touchdown pass. Despite a deflected extra point attempt by Brandon McManus, the Jaguars maintained their 7-0 advantage with just under three minutes left in the first quarter.

The Titans started off strong, exchanging punts with the Jaguars. However, their momentum was short-lived when wide receiver Chris Moore ran for 38 yards, pushing the ball into Jaguars territory. The Titans’ drive was halted when quarterback Will Levis mishandled a snap and fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Foye Oluokon of the Jaguars. Oluokon made an impact on the opening drive as he also recorded a sack earlier in the game.

As the first quarter came to a close, it seemed that the Jaguars had an edge over their opponents due to their early lead and strong defensive play by Oluokon.
