Saints running back Jamaal Williams sustained a hamstring injury during Monday night’s game and will not be returning to the field in the near future. Head coach Dennis Allen addressed the injury during a press conference on Tuesday, stating that Williams will be out for “some time.” Unfortunately, Allen did not provide a more specific timeline for his return. With this in mind, it is likely that the Saints will be bringing Tony Jones onto their 53-man roster. Jones has been promoted from the practice squad for the past two weeks and demonstrated his value by scoring two touchdowns on Monday night after Williams left the game. It is important to note that Jones was the sole backup for Williams, as Kendre Miller was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. If Miller does not recover in time for the upcoming week, the Saints may need to add another running back to their roster alongside Jones. This is especially crucial considering Alvin Kamara will be serving his final suspension game.
