In a blow to the Kansas City Chiefs, sources from CBS Sports have revealed that wide receiver Kadarius Toney will not be active for Super Bowl LVIII unless there are any unexpected changes. Toney, who made a significant impact in Super Bowl LVII with the Giants, has faced setbacks this season, including injuries and personal reasons that have kept him off the field since Week 15.
During the regular season, Toney struggled with a low number of catches and a high drop rate compared to other receivers. His mistakes resulted in a touchdown for the Lions in Week 1 and further added to his challenges throughout the season. An Instagram Live rant before the AFC Championship Game only highlighted the difficulties Toney has been facing, questioning his trustworthiness on the team.
Despite his recent struggles, Toney was able to make a memorable play in last year’s Super Bowl with the Giants. However, it seems unlikely that he will return to the Chiefs next year as his contract is up after this season. Super Bowl LVIII can be viewed on CBS and Nickelodeon and streamed on Paramount+.
