The Las Vegas Aces, owned by Mark Davis, had a prosperous game in Las Vegas on Sunday. Following a devastating loss for Davis’ Raiders in Buffalo, the Aces have been in a position to safe a victory against the Chicago Sky, clinching the 1st round series and advancing to the league semifinals for the fifth consecutive season.
The Aces dominated the game, defeating the Sky with a score of 92-70. While the Sky produced a robust comeback in the fourth quarter, cutting the Aces’ lead to much less than ten points, Aces coach Becky Hammon produced a strategic move by placing A’ja Wilson, a two-time league MVP, back in the lineup. With Wilson’s contribution, the Aces have been in a position to safe the win prior to Wilson suffered an injury to her eye.
Thankfully, Wilson appeared to be fine following the game and assured reporters that she would advantage from the six days of rest prior to the subsequent game. Wilson had an outstanding efficiency, scoring 38 points and breaking the franchise record previously held by her coach, Hammon.
With an announced attendance of 9,000, the prime-seeded Aces controlled the 1st round match against the eighth-seeded Sky. The Aces won each games on their residence floor at Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena, with the Sky under no circumstances taking the lead.
Seeking ahead, the Aces will face the winner of the match among Dallas and Atlanta in the semifinals, which will be a very best-of-five series. Several anticipate that the Aces will face the New York Liberty in the WNBA Final, producing a very anticipated match among the league’s two “super teams.”
