Linebacker Mykal Walker has returned to the Commanders, signing with the franchise on Tuesday. Walker, a fourth-round pick by the Falcons in 2020 during Dan Quinn’s tenure as head coach, played for Atlanta in his first three seasons before being waived last August.

After playing for Chicago and Las Vegas, Walker signed with Pittsburgh midway through the 2023 season and appeared in eight games with five starts. He recorded 33 total tackles with two for loss, two passes defended, and an interception while showcasing his versatility.

Walker brings valuable experience and skills to the Commanders as they prepare for the upcoming season. His familiarity with Coach Quinn should help him acclimate quickly to the team. The addition of Walker is expected to strengthen the Commanders’ defense and provide depth at linebacker position.
