Local Business Owner Faces Financial Hardship after Being Locked out of Bank Account with $30K Grant from Greater Houston Community Foundation

Nov 22, 2023

Natasha Galloway, owner of BB Fly Trucking, had big dreams for her small business after being awarded a $30,000 grant. She planned to use the money to pay off her truck, purchase a trailer, and invest in commercial property. However, things took a turn for the worse when she encountered problems accessing the grant funds.

Galloway received the good news of winning the grant in an email on September 29. She was ecstatic and immediately began making plans for how she would use the money. She even took out her checkbook and wrote a check to pay off her truck. But little did she know that this would be the beginning of a three-month nightmare.

When Galloway tried to deposit the check at her local Regions Bank branch, they told her that it was suspicious. They proceeded to freeze her entire business account and began an investigation into the matter. Galloway was devastated as she had big plans for the grant money that would have greatly benefited her business.

Despite efforts by Galloway to get in touch with Regions Bank and clear up any misunderstandings, she was still unable to access any of the funds in her account. The situation became even more frustrating when Galloway’s truck was repossessed and sent to auction due to unpaid bills.

Galloway expressed her frustration and disappointment with the situation as she felt like all of her hard work had gone down the drain. Regions Bank stated that they cannot discuss clients’ banking information but are looking into the investigation further. For updates on this case, Galloway suggested following Lileana Pearson on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

In conclusion, Natasha Galloway’s dream of taking her small business to new heights were shattered by unexpected issues with accessing grant funds from Regions Bank. Despite receiving confirmation of receiving a grant from Greater Houston Community Foundation and verifying its legitimacy by Regions Bank, Galloway is still unable to access any of it due to bank’s suspicion on check authenticity which resulted in freezing of account for three months leading to loss of truck through repossession.
