Man Charged with Battery and Intoxication Following Altercation at Economy Inn in Plymouth

On the morning of April 2nd, 2024, Plymouth Police Officers responded to a call at Economy Inn, 2535 N. Michigan Street, for a fight in progress around 12:50 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two males involved in a physical altercation. It was determined that the intoxicated males had a verbal altercation before one of them, Bill Ortiz, 44 of Plymouth, punched the other male in the face, causing injury.

The police officers took Ortiz into custody and transported him to the Marshall County Jail for charges of Battery resulting in Bodily Injury and Public Intoxication. A court date and bond were assigned to Ortiz.
