On November 14, at approximately 2:15 a.m., deputies in Fayette County arrested Desjuan Toliver, 29, of LaGrange, on charges of loitering, prowling, and criminal intent to commit burglary. The arrest took place after deputies responded to a suspicious person call at a business near Kenwood Road. A 911 caller reported seeing someone wearing a ski mask and peering into the business’s windows. When deputies arrived, they found Toliver matching the description provided by the caller.
Toliver was carrying pieces of concrete to the storefront, indicating his intention to break into the closed business. Deputies searched Toliver and found car keys hidden in his sock. They also located a GMC Yukon and a trailer parked several businesses away containing more pieces of concrete, ratchet straps, and moving blankets. These items were likely used for breaking into other businesses as well.
Toliver was subsequently booked into the Fayette County Jail and is facing charges related to his criminal activity. The incident serves as a reminder that even during the darkest hours of the night, law enforcement is always vigilant and ready to protect citizens from potential threats.
