Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced the company’s plans to hire Sam Altman and other members of OpenAI’s team, just a few days after firing the co-founder. “Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, along with colleagues, will join Microsoft to lead a new advanced artificial intelligence research team,” Nadella said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The addition of OpenAI’s top talent to Microsoft is expected to further strengthen the company’s position as a leader in AI research and development. The new team will focus on advancing cutting-edge AI technologies and solutions that can benefit businesses and individuals around the world.

This news comes as Microsoft continues to invest heavily in AI, with plans to spend $15 billion on the technology by 2023. The company has already made significant progress in this area, with its recent acquisition of GitHub and its partnership with LinkedIn.

As for OpenAI, it remains unclear what the future holds for the company without its co-founder. However, one thing is certain – this latest development marks another major step forward in the world of AI research and innovation.
