Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a thrilling Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers, despite trailing by 10 points in the first half. With just three yards left on fourth down and time running out, Mahomes made an eight-yard run that converted the crucial down and kept the drive going. The next play saw him make a 19-yard run that converted another third down and put the Chiefs in position to score.
After guiding his team through a 13-play, 75-yard drive, Mahomes ended it with a three-yard touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman, giving the Chiefs a hard-fought 25-22 win over the 49ers. His performance on the field was nothing short of spectacular, earning him his third MVP award for Super Bowl XLIX.
Throughout the game, Mahomes showed off his incredible skill set as he finished with an impressive stat line of 34-of-46 for 333 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on the first drive of the second half. He also had a team-high 66 rushing yards.
As he stands atop of football world after leading his team to three straight Super Bowl wins against their biggest rivals, it seems unlikely that anyone would bet against Mahomes achieving this historic feat again in future seasons.
