Croatia has secured direct qualification to the 2024 European Championship in Germany with a narrow victory over Armenia in Maksimir. The atmosphere in Zagreb was phenomenal as 20,000 fans created a great atmosphere, and the players were happy to play in their home city after a long time. The eastern stand was missing, but the kids certainly enjoyed themselves.

Captain Luka Modrić expressed his happiness at qualifying for the Euro and said they deserved it, despite complications in the penultimate cycle. He also mentioned the importance of securing the second goal to close the game and discussed the fear of not knowing the result of the second game. Modrić emphasized that there are still things the national team needs to correct, and that improvements can be made before the Euros if they want to play an important role.

Modrić praised the performances of players like Pašalić, Budimir, and Majer, saying they played well and did a great job. He also expressed his hope for the return of players like Mateo and Perja to further improve the team’s performance. Despite their victory, Modrić knows that there is still work to be done if Croatia wants to make a strong impact at the Euros.
