CCRC Launches New Home Health Program for Independent Living Residents

Monarch Landing, a Naperville, IL-based continuing care retirement community (CCRC), has recently introduced Monarch at Home, a home health program designed to assist independent living residents who require assistance and wish to remain in their apartments. According to Mychelle Benton, Director of Monarch at Home, this service is specifically aimed at independent living residents who need additional support.

Monarch at Home offers traditional services that have been available to residents through outside agencies. However, the program differs from these services in that it provides visits lasting 15 minutes or so as opposed to one-hour increments. This can save residents money and allow them to stay in their units for longer periods of time.

Kelli Cox, Associate Executive Director of Monarch at Home, explained that the program includes care companions who can assist residents with outings, personal care, domestic chores, and other tasks they may struggle with. Additionally, because there is always a nurse available through Monarch at Home, they can coordinate medications and provide injections, wound care, and more if necessary.

The nursing staff undergoes thorough background checks and follows strict guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents. The caregiver companions are carefully matched with residents to ensure a good fit.

Monarch Landing staff members manage the operations of the CCRC and are subject to background checks and rigorous guidelines. The CCRC is owned by Harrison-based Senior Care Development and managed by Life Care Services as an equity partner. Other CCRCs have also expanded their offerings to include home care services like Monarch at Home.

Overall, Monarch at Home provides essential support for independent living residents who need assistance while allowing them to stay in their units longer. With its experienced nursing staff and carefully matched caregiver companions, the program offers a range of services designed to make life easier for its clients.
