NBC Chicago reports that the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago closed unexpectedly on Wednesday for maintenance.

On Wednesday, the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago announced an unexpected closure due to maintenance issues. Individuals who had purchased advance tickets would receive a refund or could reschedule their visit by calling (773) 684-1414. The museum is scheduled to reopen on Thursday for its regular operating hours of 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Museum of Science and Industry had extended its hours for spring break from Monday to Thursday, opening at 9:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. Normal operating hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. were set to resume on Monday, April 8th, according to the website. On April 21st, the museum is planning to offer free admission to Illinois residents as part of its ongoing efforts to make science accessible to all members of the community.
