Texans acquire Stefon Diggs in trade with Bills

In a recent social media post, Stefon Diggs questioned whether his own success is directly linked to that of Josh Allen. As it turns out, the Bills have decided to trade Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick originally from Minnesota. Buffalo will also receive a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick from Houston.

The trade was made before June 1st, which means that the Bills will face a $31 million dead cap charge in 2024. Despite being signed through 2027, Diggs will now leave Buffalo after just two seasons with the team. During his time in Buffalo, Diggs had an impressive first season, leading the league in catches (127) and yards (1535). However, his production decreased slightly in 2023, but he still achieved over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for the fourth year in a row. He has now surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for six consecutive seasons.

The Texans have made this move to add another weapon for second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud as they continue their quest for success in the NFL. Throughout his 136-game career, Diggs has recorded an impressive total of 810 receptions for a whopping total of 9,995 yards and an impressive number of touchdowns with a total of 67 under his belt.
